Dice Guys Audio Podcast 012: The Infected Edition!

Number 12 was recorded back on December 3, 2011. Holy crap! Why so long? Short answer: illness. You’ll hear it on the podcast, and I’m still sick now as I write this. Sick since November. But it’s time to get this site and our project moving again, no matter what. You’ll get info on gamification, dumbass elitist game opinions, game picks, and Brain Flakes!

  • Those wacky and ingenious Japanese have created social urinal games. Not exactly when I think about being social, but, there you go. See a video at G4TV if you dare!
  • By the way, we ain’t doing a best of list for 2011. Deal with it. But we’re happy to give recommendations if you ask!
  • SCIENCE! NASA launches the Mars Science Lab Curiosity and we love it — although we wish people were going too.

Features

  • We take a jab at people who think board games are dying. Big box stores have full, well organized game sections now with hobby games sprinkled into them. Dying is as far from the truth as you can get. No link to an article here because we’re not responding to just one person. The articles like this are around the web, so find and read them as you need to.
  • We take a look at gamification, starting with a video we saw of Volkswagen turning a subway staircase into a piano to see if people would stop taking the escalator. Check it out here. And we take the opportunity to discuss other gamification, like Fitocracy giving fitness level ups, and how consoles are turning moving into fun with notion control.
